Statement of Faith
WE BELIEVE in the God of the Bible, the creator of life, the universe and everything, who eternally exists in three distinct personalities—the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Act 17:24-31)
WE BELIEVE in Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who is fully human and fully divine, who died on the cross, was buried, and has risen from the grave—a historical fact proclaimed by the sharing of communion. (John 14:6-7)
WE BELIEVE in the Holy Spirit, who is equal with the Father and Son, convicts people of sin, indwells and empowers believers, seals our salvation, and produces within each believer both spiritual fruit and spiritual gifts. (Romans 8:26-27)
WE BELIEVE the Bible is God’s Word, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and the final authority in faith, morality, and holiness. We choose to speak where the Bible speaks and to use our Spirit-guided judgment where the Bible is silent. (2 Timothy 3:16)
WE BELIEVE that all people have been created in God’s image, yet all have sinned and fallen short of God’s standard, resulting in a broken relationship with Him. That relationship can only be restored by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ, who died on the cross so that those who believe in him could be born again and receive eternal life—an inward reality visibly dramatized in the waters of baptism. (Romans 3:22-24)
WE BELIEVE the church is the eternal family of God. Church is something we are, not just something we attend. Church is about encouraging one another, doing life together, and working as a family to carry out God’s purposes on earth. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
WE BELIEVE that the most important commands in all of Scripture are to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Jesus himself made this clear, and this is why our primary purpose is to love God and love people. (Mark 12:30-31)
WE BELIEVE that it is the responsibility of every believer to share Jesus and his teachings with spiritually lost people in our community and beyond. (Matt. 28:19-20)
WE BELIEVE that Jesus will one day return to judge the world. His return will herald the resurrection of unbelievers, who will be eternally punished, and believers, who will be eternally rewarded. And His return will mark the beginning of the very best. (Acts 1:9-11)
